ParaSport Winter Games

Dates:  February 3-5, 2023

Disciplines:  Wheelchair (6 teams) & Visually Impaired (4 teams)

Club: Oshawa Curling Club, 226 Bond St E, Oshawa, ON L1G 1B5

How to Qualify (Wheelchair):

  • 1 team from Sticks & Stones event (Peterborough) 
  • 2 teams from Ontario Wheelchair Curling Open (Toronto Cricket)
  • 1 team NOCA Provincial (not already qualified)
  • 1 team CurlON Provincial (not already qualified) 
  • 1 Rookie team (details dependent on # of rookie teams interested)

ABOUT THE GAMES:

Eleven sports; 5-a-side Soccer, Boccia, Sitting Volleyball, Goalball,Para-alpine, Para-nordic, Sledge Hockey, Wheelchair Basketball, Wheelchair Curling, Wheelchair Rugby and Visual Impaired Curling will compete in these games from February 3 -5 in the Durham Region. 

The Ontario ParaSport Winter Games are a program of the Government of Ontario, delivered by host municipalities in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sport (Games Ontario). The Games promote public awareness of the para-sport and showcase Ontario’s best athletes. The Games provide host communities with an opportunity to make their community barrier-free and leave a legacy for persons with a disability in their community. The Games are supported by the Government of Ontario, Provincial Sport Organizations and the Games Organizing Committee proudly made up of members of the host community. The Games will also be supported by hundreds of local volunteers and spectators who are all focused on making a lasting favourable impression.
